About us:
Power Line Automation Networks is a product line developed by Automation Research Group based at University of Pennsylvania’s Pennovation Center after about seven years of development.
The product line uses the G3-PLC standard and allows secure private communications over existing power lines. It is the culmination of about seven years of development by ARG in the area of smart grid systems.
These products enable cities and buildings to remotely communicate with and control existing lighting, infrastructure and sensors without installing any new wired or wireless systems.
Essentially, the technology allows the implementation of a large area secured private network on existing power lines without having to connect via WiFi, Ethernet or cellular connections to the internet.
